The cold weather has returned and that only means one thing, it’s now acceptable to wear a red lip.
I do love the summer, the sun, walking and being outside in a simple t-shirt, but it doesn’t last year-round in Canada. So to make things seem less bleak, let’s look at something more positive… makeup!
Cheeks
The perfect neutral blush or that glow-from-within look in the Fall is what I love. I tend to play up my eyes and/or lips more in the colder months which means my base is more subdued. My current favourites are the MAC Cosmetics Make You Mine, NARS Super Orgasm and Clinique Chubby Stick in 01 Amp’d Up Apple.
Lips
Bold, bright, dark! It’s all about the statement lip in the Fall and no one does lipstick better than MAC. 9 times out of 10 I’ll reach for a MAC lipstick over one of my dozen others. MAC Cosmetics Captive, Rebel and Lady Danger.
Nails
In the Fall, I paint my nails the same why I apply my lipstick, with as much bold colour as possible. Although, I must admit that these colours tend to surface year-round, but they are most appropriate and on trend during the autumnal season. Essie’s Raspberry and Merino Cool are two of my all time faves. Another really good colour, but also very neutral is Formula X by Sephora in Impeccable.
These are the items I’ve been excited to use this season. Let me know which makeup products you bust out in the colder months.
