Holiday Party Makeup Menu

Last week I posted about possible outfits for a holiday party, so it is only appropriate to show you the makeup I’d wear at such an event.

Makeup for a special event is not just important it’s also extremely fun to plan out and then apply. I’m showing you here the products I love playing with and some I only get to use once in a blue moon.

It’s the holidays and it’s time to get fancy. I’ve busted out all my favourite glam products and these are actually the products I wore to a Christmas party in early December. These are all items I trust and know do their job fabulously.

My go-to beautiful finish, covers everything, lasts all night foundation is still the Laura Mercier Silk Crème Photo Edition Foundation in Rose Ivory.  For concealer I’m still using and loving the Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser in Fair under my eyes and the NYX HD Concealer in 01 for covering any blemishes. I set everything with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent.

I always use a little bronzer, even in the winter. My favourite, for a while now, has been the Réserve Naturelle Terra Cotta Bronzer. For blush, I believe it’s a no brainer, the Mac Make You Mine Blush has been my most-used, most-loved, goes with everything. Highlighters have become very essential in my everyday makeup routine, and are even more important for a special occasion. The Becca Champagne Glow Palette is excellent for an all over glow. The three shades offer versatility and can be applied to many parts of the face. Go crazy and glow like a disco ball.

The Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion is essential for an even base and the Urban Decay Naked Palette is the best neutral palette. The pigmentation is amazing and that colours allow for subdued to smoky looks. My favourite mascara is the Chanel Le Volume. I cannot live without this stuff, when it runs out, my bank account will be very very sad. Falsies are a must on special occasions, so I chose my Social Eyes Irresistible Lashes, they are quite dramatic, but very pretty. To frame my eyes I shape my brows with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Taupe.

I chose to go with a more nude lip and applied MAC Faux Lipstick and Nyx Angel Food Cake Butter Gloss.

For extra shimmer I apply The Body Shop The Sparkler on my arms, neck and chest.

That’s all for this post. Let me know what superstar items you use for a special occasion.
