Best in Beauty: 2015

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope you all rang in the new year fabulously. I kept it low key this year and stayed in, it was wonderful!

It’s time to look back at all the beautiful products that made 2015 more exciting!

My standout base for this year has got to be the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. A wonderful product with light to medium coverage, has SPF and gives such a natural finish. Concealer has been a bit hit and miss this year, but my consistent loves have been the Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser and NYX HD Concealer.  For bronzer, there is only one that I use all the time: the Réserve Naturelle Terra Cotta Bronzer. I loved only two blushes this year: MAC Make You Mine and Gosh Flower Power. My brows were loved by the Maybelline Brow Drama and Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade.

For eyes, my always trusty Urban Decay Naked Palette still is my most-used eyeshadow palette. I also reached for the Pacifica Eyeshadow in Treasure which gives a beautiful and effortless bronze eye. The Chanel Le Volume Mascara has been my absolute favorite mascara of the year, it’s just unfortunate it is so pricy. A close dupe and another favorite is the L’Oréal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.

The Becca Champagne Glow Palette is a more recent addition to my collection, but it’s been so amazing that it couldn’t be overlooked in this post. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light is also another great product to add glow to the face. To finish it all off, the Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is still the only thing I use to set my makeup.

This year I loved my neutral lips, especially at work. My favourites include the NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake and the MAC Peach Blossom Lipstick.

Nail polish is a constant struggle for me. I own many, I love having nice manicured nails, but my nails are so brittle and seem to repel all nail polish formulas. This year I discovered the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polishes and let me tell you, what a game changer! They are great polishes that last longer than others and the range of shades is great. I still do love my Essie Nail Polish in Angor Cardi as well.

This year I’ve become quite happy about my skincare routine. I should put up a whole post about it, all in good time. Anyway, these six items are the wow products that have made my skin very happy. The Ren ClearCalm3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser is brilliant. It soothes and does not dry out my skin at all. For morning cleansing and extra hard eye makeup removal I still only use the Bioderma Miscelar Solution. My morning serum with Vitamin C is the Andalou Naturals Tumeric + C Brightening Serum. My favourite and most repurchased morning moisturizer is the Derma E Hydrating Day Cream. The most brilliant oil discovery of the year has been the Melvita Nigella Oil. It is hydrating and clarifying and works amazingly for problem skin. For hair and body moisture I’ve been loving The Body Shop Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil. It smells so good and is light-weight enough to use daily.

Long post, but a necessary one. My most-loved products of 2015. Here’s to a new year, more discoveries and more favourites.

Let me know which items you loved the most in 2015.
