Best of Beauty 2016!

Happy New Year everyone !! I hope you all spent a wonderful holiday with family, friends and loved ones. I spent the entire time working, but I was able to go home earlier and have a Christmas before Christmas with my immediate family.

A new year means new adventures, new opportunities, new memories that are waiting to be made.

Let’s take one last look into the 2016 at the products that I discovered during the past year and completely adored.

Foundation and Concealer

-L’Oréal Infallible Foundations : Pro-Matte and Pro-Glow (102 and 202)

This may be the best discovery of the year. These foundations last ALL DAY and make my skin look flawless. They are drugstore, which means accessible and affordable and the packaging is very travel friendly.

-Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer (Fair)

The best brightening and covering concealer for under the eyes. I’ve repurchased many many many times.

-Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and Concealer (Porcelain and Fair)

I adore this line. The ingredients (coconut water and hyaluronic acid) are amazing for the skin, the finish is beautiful and natural while being full coverage and the packaging is beautiful.

Blush, Bronzer, Highlighter

-Milan Baked Blushes (Luminoso and Rose D’Oro)

These blushes have been around for a while, but I only discovered them last year and boy am I happy I did. They are super affordable and they look beautiful on the skin. They are pigmented and add a subtle blowy highlight.

-Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Powder

My new favourite setting powder, it works great and the packaging is pink!

-Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Opal)

I adore this liquid highlighter. It adds such a nice glow to the face and I can add as little or as much as I want.

-Réserve Naturelle Bronzer (Terra Cotta)

I’ve mentioned this stuff so many times I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but it’s just my perfect bronzer. Pigmented, a little shimmery and my ideal shade.

-Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Palette

UD shadows are some of my favourite, because they are buttery, pigmented and blend so easily.

-Maybelline Colour Tattoo (Bad To The Bronze)

I’ve been using this product for longer than a year but I used it so much in 2016 that I just had to mention it. It’s so easily applied, I just use my fingers and bam, a beautiful bronzed eye.

-Colourpop Super Shock Shadows (Amaze and Muse)

This brand does no wrong and their shadows are one of my best discoveries this year. There are so many shades to choose from, all are insanely pigmented and buttery. Plus, the brand is cruelty free!

-Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

My most-used primer by far.

-L’Oréal Carbon Black Lineur Intense

I started using black liquid liner a whole lot in 2016 and this one is a recent but amazing discovery. Very black, and very easy to apply.

-Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

This mascara is probably my all-time fave now. It makes me look as if I am wearing falsies.

-Colourpop Brow Pencil and Brow Colour (Honey Blonde)

Again Colourpop did amazingly well with brow products. The brow colour is very similar to the ABH Brow Pomade and a fraction of the price. The pencil is thin and precise and it comes with a spoolie.

-NYX Tinted Brow Mascara (Blonde)

I used this pretty much everyday because it’s the quickest way to do my brows. It fills them in and sets them all in one swoop.

-Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip (Lumière 2)

This lippies are amazing, they last forever. I have many shades, but this one I had in my bag most often. It’s a dark neutral, which works for everyday wear.

-Colourpop Lippie Stix

This lip primer was compared to the MAC one that everyone loves, so I tried it out and now I cannot wear a lipstick without using this first. It just creates such a smooth base for any lip product and helps the product last longer.

-NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick (Exotic)

Liquid lips were my discovery of the year, and these are amazing as well. This shade suits me so nicely because it’s a little darker than a typical nude, but isn’t too harsh against my pale skin.

-Chanel Rouge Coco Shine (Boy)

A duty-free purchase I made in the middle of 2016 that I do not regret one little bit. It’s such a MLBB shade with a nice shine and so comfortable to wear.

-Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish and Top Coat (Stitch By Stitch, Pinned Up, Take Me To Thread)

These were by far the absolute best nail polishes I have ever used. Once I discovered these I could not use or buy any other kind of nail polish. They are so shiny, and last very very well on nails that seem to repel polishes usually. I cannot recommend these enough.

-Ebelin Nail Polish Remover and Nail Buffer Block

I purchased these in Germany, so I am unsure whether they are available anywhere else. They work so well and are so cheap!

There you have it! My ultimate makeup and beauty faves of 2016 ! It was a busy year, filled with many discoveries. I cannot wait for new adventures to come in 2017.

Have a wonderful day everyone !
